Li Chun (778-820)was the eldest son of Emperor Shunzong and yielded the thron from his father in the year 805. His reign was till the year 820, when he was murdered by the eunuch Chen Hongzhi.
As emperor, Li Chun set out to curb the power of the military governors and, when they would not heed his orders, he waged wars against them.
Emperor Xianzong's reign briefly stabilized Tang from the destructive forces of the military governors, but saw the rise of the power of eunuchs.
