This historical marker is part of a series of historical markers located all around Klamath County and commissioned by the Klamath County Historical Society.

If one looks on a topography map, there is the name Topsy (site) on the map where this T Marker exists. There is also a nearby benchmark from 1905 as well and can be visited here: USGS Benchmark.

In observing the surroundings around this T Marker, the only hint that there was any development here is a nearby fruit tree with lava rock surrounding its base, most likely planted by someone who lived here. No other remnants or evidence of any development here could be found. It would be very neat to find a picture of this place when the stagecoach passed through here many years ago. There is a creek that flows close to this T Marker and I would assume helped to provide water to the travelers passing through. Much logging has been done through this area over the decades and the landscape has changed quite a bit with most all the old growth lumber logged out of here 100+ years ago.

Directions to historical marker: If you're traveling south along Topsy Grade Rd which goes south from Hwy 66 (Green Springs Dr), you will see the T Marker on the left side of the road.

The marker text reads:

TOPSY STATION (1875-1903)

A POST OFFICE, STAGE AND FREIGHT STOP ON THE TOPSY
