Two Italian brothers built this house which was part of the small Dondero Ranch.

 Marker Text (required): Italian Dondero brothers, Joseph & John B, came to Genoa in 1863. They built this simple, unadorned farm house c. 1865 on 22 acres later called "Dondero Ranch". The barn & original hay rake are c. 18970. The stone-lined, hand-dug well is still used. The house, with some changes made to it, remains as sturdy as when built. Joseph died in his house in 1884 at age 48. In 1885 John B sold the ranch to henry Ott. John died at age 88 in California.
