rIn Narragansett, at the corner of Matthewson Street and Exchange Place, is an arrangement of monuments, one of which is a World War II memorial.
The memorial is located at the northwest corner of Memorial Park and is at the corner of Exchange Place and Matthewson Street. Accross Exchange Place is the post office.
From the intersection there is a path, first to a central feature that looks like a sundial, then, straight ahead, is the World War II memorial.
The monument has a central feature and two wings, each with a feature in bronze. The central feature contains a relief of a soldier, looking right, with gun in hands. Around the soldier are the following words: "Narragansett Roll of Honor World War II - 1941 1945." The left and right features are lists of names of those who served. On the list are almost 120 names. On the right side is a name that has been added since the original plaque was created. There are stars next to some names, which I assume are those from Narragansett who died in conflict.
The Smithsonian Art Inventory site (link included) has a little more about the monument. It was designed by Florence Brevoort Kane around 1950.
