EN: With industrialization and population growth the traditional spring water supply of the municipality Pratteln came to the performance limits. So 1913 the first groundwater pumping station Löli was put into operation.
The building was designed by W. and J. Rapp. The architecture style is characterized by the folkloristic Heimatstil of the pre-war period. The discrepancy between form and function is obvious.
The nearly square building floor contains the pump chamber on the ground, upstairs the home for the pumping keeper. The tower in the southeast includes the transformer, and the cultivation in the north west the staircase to the apartment and a laundry room.
The pump station is the only of its kind in Switzerland, and is therefore significant for the cultural history and industrial archaeology.
DE: Mit der Industrialisierung und Bevölkerungszunahme kam die traditionelle Quellwasserversorgung der Gemeinde Pratteln an ihre Leistungsgrenzen. So wurde 1913 das erste Grundwasserpumpwerk Löli in Betrieb genommen.
Das Gebäude wurde von W. und J. Rapp entworfen. Die Architektur ist noch vom Heimatstil dieser geprägt. Die Diskrepanz zwischen Form und Funktion ist offensichtlich.
Das fast quadratische Gebäude enthält im Erdgeschoss den Pumpraum, darüber die Wohnung des Pumpwarts. Der Turm im Südosten beinhaltet den Transformator und der Anbau im Nordwesten den Treppenaufgang zur Wohnung und eine Waschküche.
Das Pumpwärterhaus ist das einzige dieser Art in der Schweiz und deshalb kulturgeschichtlich und industrie-archäologisch bedeutsam.
