The 12' long by 7' high gleaming brushed stainless steel abstract sculpture "Home" was created by New Britain resident Craig M. Frederick. It was commissioned by the City of New Britain as part of the Arch Street downtown revitalization project. The sculpture was installed in 2000 to very favorable reviews.

The sculpture consists of a single piece of stainless steel that rises from the ground, forms a graceful series of arches and curves before coming back down to earth. As you walk around the sculpture it takes on changing forms, which suggests the dynamism of the renovated city.

A plaque near the open end of the sculpture is inscribed:

"HOME"
