The Beehive Inn was built as private house in 1727 for Robert and Ann Patten, who was one daughter of Roland Burrows, of the Mansion House, in Eamont Bridge village. Looking west.

The Beehive Inn is one of two remaining pubs in Eamont Bridge. There were five inns possibly due to the coaching trade when the turnpike adopted the road in 1753. We do not know when the pub started, but the sale price in 1947 was £4,600. (visit link)
