Located on the side of Oslo's Central Railroad Station, this sculpture is part of a drained fountain. The work depicts a lifesized bronze man and woman, nude and standing straight side by side with their arms at their sides. The sculpture is set atop a tall (about 30 feet) column in the middle of the fountain. The column has a bulbous top and resembles a microphone.
Although no information could be found about the piece, it is undoubtedly the work of Gustav Vigeland (11 April 1869 – 12 March 1943), a Norwegian sculptor who has an entire park in Oslo devoted to his works....almost all similar to this... portraying the nude human form.
