While the Bahia Hotel Resort & Marina occupies most of Bahia Point and the cove on the west side, all of the beach along the east side and north end is public beach with parking along most of its length. Restrooms are located near the north end of the east side but are closed during cool winter months. The only amenities on this beach are fire rings. From the San Diego Coast Life web site:
Bahia Point Beach is located on the southwest corner of Mission Bay Park. The narrow, sandy beach runs along the north and east sides of Bahia Point. Behind the beach is an open grassy area, with palm trees. The beach offers scenic views of birds and colorful sail boats, and Paradise Point Marina on Vacation Isle, across the channel. Behind the beach and park is the Bahia Resort Hotel.
Bahia Point Beach has a peaceful atmosphere, and is a nice place to sunbathe or walk along. The nearby parking lot and gently sloping sand, along the east side of Bahia Point, makes the beach ideal for launching small sail boats, kayaaks, and jet skis. Along the north side, the beach includes fire rings.
