This Marker is mounted on the front of the building at 1600 Esmeralda Avenue in Minden, Nevada. It is Stop #8 on the Discover Minden Walking Tour. A brochure detailing all 48 stops of the tour is available from the Minden Chamber of Commerce.

Minden Mercantile

Built in 1926 by William Rood and William Heitman, the store carried groceries, hardware, and farm supplies. In 1931 C.B. Braden opened a drug store within the building. Under the new management of John Ellis in 1939, the store expanded, selling toys, electrical appliances, and confections while allowing charge accounts and provided home delivery.
