This one and one-half story Bungalow was built about 1917 for Stephen S. East, President of the Salem Bank of Commerce, and his wife Emma. A prominent feature is the large front gable with six "ribbon" windows. They lived in the house until 1944, when they sold it to Millett, who still owned the house at the time of the National Registry listing.
