This house is believed to have been built circa 1895, although the front porch is an addition dating to about 1910. The house was constructed after the lot was purchased by Carrie Nichols from developer O.E. Krausse in 1890, although it is not believed that Nichols actually lived here. The house was later purchased by Rady and Grace Stiffler in 1909. Mr. Stiffler worked as a carpenter while Mrs. Stiffler was a dressmaker, who ultimately lived in the house until about 1929.
