This is the second of a series of "artisan benches" planned by the Bow Valley Ranche society to line the walkway from the Bow Valley Ranche House (now The Ranche restaurant) to the Artisan Gardens, another project by the society. Ten benches are planned, to be created by sculptor Gernot Keifer. Two were in place by August 2012.
On this bench, there are silhouettes of polo players on the front of each leg. The edges of the seating are decorated with stylized leaves and wild roses. Over the back of the bench, there is a draped ornament which seems to be inspired by a western belt. The "belt" portion has ornamental scrollwork, wild roses (the floral emblem of Alberta), and the name ROB PETERS. The oval "buckle" element has a large abstract symbol which has a striking similarity to the three gables of the nearby Bow Valley Ranche House, and the words "Rob Peters Family Residence 1969 to 1974". The provincial park was created around 1974.
