This house was built circa 1908 for Elizabeth Proctor, who then sold the property in 1919 to Horace and Katie Marsters. Mr. Marsters spent about 30 years with the Salem real estate firm of Perrine and Marsters. He also built and operated the first privately owned service station in Salem at the corner of Miller and South Commercial streets. Mrs. Marsters died in 1959, followed by Horace in 1961. At the house was inherited by a daughter, who then sold it in 1976.
