Die erste Kirche wurde auf dem Salvatorberg zusammen mit dem dortigen Kloster am Ende des 10. Jahrhunders gebaut, 1039 erfolgt ein Ausbau. Da das Kloster im Jahre 1220 nach Burtscheid (einem Stadtteil von Aachen) umzog, verfielen Kirche und Kloster in der Folgezeit.
Im Jahre 1883 wurde mit dem Neubau der Kirche St. Salvator begonnen, welcher im jahre 1886 beendet wurde.
The first church on top of the Salvatorberg was build along was a monastery at the end of the 10th century. 1039 the church was extended. As the monastery moved in the year 1220 to Burtscheidt (which is a quarter of the city of Aachen), the church was not in use anymore, thus falling slowly apart.
In 1883, the church St. Salvator was completely rebuild, the work was finished in 1886.
