This station is a standard CTGS disk, located in Danbury, CT. It is positioned west from the intersection of Mill Plain Road (U.S. Route 6) and Kenosia Avenue. Set in the easternmost end of a grass plot between a sidewalk and roadside curb, the mark is set in a concrete post and 2-3 inches below the ground surface.
Station #498X is an apparent reset (replacing station #498, see below), and is located east (about 10-ft) from power pole 77, rather than south from it, where the original was. It's position is clearly noted at the road curb ('498X' is painted on the asphalt). Having been exposed by recent surveyor activity, finding this mark has been easy.
The description below is an extract from NGS datasheet LX7359, for station #497. Note that the description calls out station #498 (A U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey & State Survey disk), which was used as an azimuth mark for #497, and was apparently destroyed by road construction. This is the only information available for this station, which made this find possible (At this time, there is no easy access to CT datasheets on the Net, except through NGS datasheets, where applicable).
NGS extract:

Note that I paraphrased the last sentence of the extract for clarification purposes.
Park vehicle in nearby parking lot behind the station. The mark may be visible, as there are frequent visits by surveyors here. This mark is not currently published with the NGS.
