The maze is made from a yew hedge and was planted in 1962. It was planted by the 11th Duke and Duchess of Cavendish and consists of 1210 plants.
Standing on the old site of Paxton's Great Conservatory the maze uses the material from the walls and paving. The conservatory was once the largest glass building in the world but after proving too expensive to heat in the First World War it was demolished in 1920.
This traditional maze is a joy to explore with its dark hedge and intriguing paths.
