"In 1875, Emerick Manning, along with several of the original settlers of the community, purchased one acre of land from Capt. John Shore for $100 for the purpose of erecting a church building, residence and burial ground". The church is now boarded up but well maintained by the White Oak Cemetery Board. The cemetery has markers dated in the 2000's and some markers are not in use yet.
