Built in 1952, Cottage #27 is westernmost in a row of three cottages along Bates Drive, south of the Oregon State Hospital's Kirkbride Building. The cottages were originally built as staff residences. Today they provide transitional housing for hospital patients preparing to return to life outside the hospital. Most of the cottages were renumbered as part of the Oregon State Hospital Replacement Project - this one is now designated as "R21."

Note to visitors: Please be respectful of the residents and keep at a reasonable distance. I made many trips to the campus in an effort to avoid taking pictures while the residents were present/aware. As far as I'm concerned, you can log a visit without a photograph if you're unable to take a photo without disturbing the residents - just walk down the street in front of the cottages and log your observations.
