The mortar was captured by the 18th Battalion AIF in the Warfusee-Framerville Sector, Battle of Amiens 8th to 17th August 1918. There were 9 Crookwell Servicemen with the 18th Battalion at that time & their names are listed on the plaque next to the mortar.
