The coordinates for this Waymark are set at the famous San Juan de Capistrano Mission...but the entry in 1000 Places encompasses the entire trail of 21 Franciscan Missions along the El Camino Royal- The Royal Road. Father Junipero Serra founded nine of the Missions...starting with Mission San Diego in 1769. This Mission in Capistrano is famous for the swallows which return each March along their migration from Argentina.
