This year (2013) Trail celebrated its 50th annual Silver City Days Festival.

The festival is held every year on the week ending in Mother's Day. It's a prototypical six day long festival with a midway (provided by West Coast Amusements), food fair, pancake breakfasts, show 'n shine, myriads of entertainment, a "sidewalk cafe" in the arena, a marathon run, a parade, a Miss Trail Pageant, a car smash and a vendor's market.
It's all capped off by a big fireworks display on Saturday night. The fireworks happen at the Gyro Park boat launch right beside the Columbia River. There's lots of good viewing area directly north of the launch site in the park. Annually, the display is always held the evening before Mother's Day.
