"The Vila Flor Palace, built by Tadeu Luis Antonio Lopes de Carvalho de Fonseca e Camões in the eighteenth century. Later passes into the possession of the Jordão family, who completed the work begun by Luis Tadeu. It is a striking building in the unfolding the history of the city of Guimarães. In 1853 he received the Queen D. Maria II, that by decree of 23 June of the same year, then raised the village of Guimarães to city.
The boxwood gardens of Vila Flor Palace, with a view over the city of Guimarães and its monuments, such as the Palace of the Dukes of Braganca and Guimaraes Castle, was the venue for important events such as the celebrations of acclaim the king D. José I in 1750"
