The Nashville replica of the Athenian Parthenon stands in Centennial Park on the northwest side of town near the campus of Vanderbilt. It was built as a display for the 1897 World's Fair and was just one of many that were built as an homage to ancient buildings around the world. It was the only building preserved by the city and it was the only one that was built as an exact replica of the original.
Some of the artwork in the pediments were cast off of the original sculptures that were made in 438 B.C.
The building is included on the Virtual Globetrotting website.
