JUDACULLA ROCK
Soapstone boulder carved with Indian symbols between 500 & 1700 A.D. Sacred to the Cherokee. Petroglyphs 3 1/2 mi. SE.

Located south of Cullowhee on NC107 at the turn onto Caney Creek Road to reach the carved petroglyphs. Per the NC marker web site (link below), we learn that "Judaculla is the anglicized pronunciation of Tsul Kalu, means “he has them slanting” for the eyes of this giant.
