The Hepburn Library of Colton is one of seven libraries originally funded by Colton native A. Barton Hepburn. The library was constructed in 1912 and opened its doors to the public in 1913.
The interior is al hand-crafted in wood, with the children's area furnishings exact replicas of the adult section.
The exterior is adorned with an unusual stonework finishing for this area.
The library helps preserve the history of the area, with several maps and charts dating from the 1820's preserved.
The building itself is registered in the National Register of Historic Places.
