Reno Avenue runs East-West through the capital city of Oklahoma. On the east it passes through Bricktown, a restored warehouse district which is a focal entertainment area of the city. Traveling west you pass through the downtown area, passed Chesapeake Arena and the Myriad Botanical Gardens, just a block south of the 50-story Devon Tower. Eight miles west of the downtown area, at 7624 W. Reno, you see the strangest sight you'd ever expect, wedged in between Reno and the Interstate.
Are those Indian teepee’s? No. They look like circus tents. As you draw closer, a sea of vehicles spreads out before you and you know you have arrived at Oklahoma City's new outlet mall. Opened in the summer of 2011 at a cost of $50,000,000, this 348,000 square foot complex contains 83 outlet stores in an open-air racetrack design, with covered walkways. The outer walls are brightly colored with designs that make you want to come in. And above the roofline, a series of white circus tent-like peaks rise into the sky.
The mall was designed by Adams + Associates and has landscaped courtyards, fountains, a food court and play areas. It is open Mon-Sat from 10-9 and Sun. from 11-7.
Reno Avenue has sights and entertainment from east to west.
