What an absolutely fantastic place to watch a concert. This open air amphitheater overlooks the Benjamin Franklin Bridge and is situated along the Delaware River. Nary is there a btter place to watch a show than outdoors, here in Camden City.

There are also huge screens to watch the show and see what's happening on stage if you are on the lawn. Basically, there is a semi circle of seats, last time i was there it was actually long benches. To the rear of the benches, which is under a covering, is the huge, expansive lawn. This is where I always sit. We bring blankets, drinks, food and just picnic, have fun and sit wherever we choose. Seating on the lawn can be problematic when there is apopular act as everyone is jammed together and people are literally walking on each other to maneuver about. One drawback is you are guaranteed a contact high when you watch a rock show.
This area called the Camden Waterfront is the new crown jewel of downtown Camden and a wonderful tourist attraction. The Susquehanna Center, along with Campbells Field, the Aquarium and the U.S.S. New Jersey, make Camden a must see stop if you are in New Jersey or visiting Philadelphia.
I remember when this place opened back in June of '95. It was called the Blockbuster-Sony Music Entertainment Centre but we just called it the E-Centre. years later, it was called the Tweeter Center and then recently, the name you see in the waymark, Susquehana Center. There are a few entrances and a decent-sized, multi-boothed ticket window. Plenty of parking out front priced reasonably and a relatively safe area with security being highly visible makes this venue a sure thing.
The U.S.S. New Jersey sits to the rear as well as a circular harbor. To truly appreciate this unique location and the completion of the waterfront rejuvenation project, look up the posted coordinates on GoogleEarth and pan around to see the development of this area. It is truly remarkable given the crime and filth infested nature of the area.
To find the attraction page and to learn more about the aquarium, go to the official Camden City web page and look on the left in the blue field (quick links) and find CAMDEN ATTRACTIONS, Click it and you fill find yourself HERE. Then click on the fourth link from the top which says Susquehanna Center and you will find yourself at the official tourism page. Interestingly enough, the link still retains the old name of this entertainment facility, Tweeter.
