This hay rake appears to be awaiting restoration. It is missing may parts, which may or may not be in the pile of hay rake parts a short distance away. A unique feature of this that I have not seen before is the horizontal rods interspersed among the curved tines. They may have been included to compress the pile of hay being gathered into a more compact pile, reducing the number of times the tines had to be lifted and increasing the size of each pile of hay created.
