This fish ladder is located at the northern end of the hydroelectric power station Birsfelden, but on Basel soil. It is made of concrete and has a length of about 100 meters, and a height of about six meters.

There is a sign next to the ladder with more general information about local fish, but also a paragraph about the fish ladder. It states, that fish ladders are often hard to find by the fish because they are searching in the zones of strongest current, and this is not where the ladder is at a power station. This fish ladder is said to work comparatively well and mainly used by eel, bream, rudd, and barbel. On the other end of the plant there is a waterway lock for commercial ships, that is also used by a lot of fish.
River/Waterway: Rhine
