The 17th International Hot Air Balloon Festival took place in November 2013, in Fronteira, Alter do Chão, Castelo de Vide e Crato

In this edition, the event counted with the participation of 35 teams from various countries (Portugal, Spain, France, England, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg).

The organization of the festival is done, as always, by Publibalão and is co-organized by the "Alentejo sem Fronteiras – Clube de Balonismo" (Ballooning Club), founded in November 2012, being the first school in the country for riders of hot air balloons, based in Fronteira in the Alto Alentejo region.

Since the festival happens in multiple spots, the waymark coordinates are from the "Alentejo sem Fronteiras" headquarters.
