Saint Peter (died AD 64 or 67), also known as Simon Peter, was a prominent early Christian leader, one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus Christ according to the New Testament. He is venerated as a saint and traditionally considered to be the first bishop and Pope by the Roman Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, and Oriental Orthodoxy.
St. Peter is the patron saint of the Popes, Church, butchers, glassmakers, carpenters, watchmakers, locksmiths, blacksmiths, founders of lead, potters, masons, brickmakers, Mostar, bikers, stonemasons, sitar, clothiers, fullers, fishermen, fishmongers, sailors, Castaway penitents, confessing and virgins, and in Chartres, Leuven, Leiden, Peterborough, St. Petersburg, Rome and Trier. Peter is also a protector against snake bites, theft and helper against rabies, obsession, foot pain.
