The Wyre Estuary Ferry provides a quick way to get from Fleetwood, across the estuary of the River Wyre to the small village of Knott End. the trip takes about five minutes and costs just 1.50 pounds per adult. It is a passenger only ferry, although bicycles are allowed. During most of the year the ferry operates on a 1/2 schedule, less frequently during the winter months.

The approach of the small ferry from Knott End is an interesting procedure as it approaches the pier, turns completely around, and then backs into the mooring. The pictures below illustrate this process.
