This 1930s style lookout tower was created by Ray Kresek in his backyard as part of a
Fire Lookout Museum he has put together. By phoning ahead (509-466-9171) one may view the tower and tour the museum. Unfortunately, the Kreseks were not home when we visited, but we did, at least, manage to get a glimpse of the lookout tower. It may easily be seen from the street.
Apparently an aficionado of lookout towers and forest fire fighting, Ray has written a couple of books on the subject, "Fire Lookouts of the Northwest" and "Fire Lookouts of Oregon & Washington" and has managed to amass a collection of tools and other articles used by the forestry service, including US Forest Service chinaware from the 1930s and a 1953 Chevy fire truck.
The museum is open annually March thru November. The address is:
123 West Westview Avenue
