The J. Kennard and Sons Carpet Company Building was in 1901 to serve as offices for the carpet company. The seven story building was designed by Architect Isaac Taylor who was also involved as an architect for the 1904 St. Louis Worlds Fair. The building was occupied by a shoe store after the carpet company moved out. After the shoe store went out of business in the early 1990's the building remained vacant until renovated and converted into a boutique hotel "WS" and day spa in 2001.

(Due to construction around the hotel, I was not able to get a very good picture)
