EN: The Schindelhof is located in St. Alban-Tal in Basel at the junction of the two channels. The complex consists of several buildings grouped around a courtyard.

In the Middle Ages Schindelhof was the terminus of the timber shipments that were passed over the canal into the city. The wood was sold here as building material and fuel. In addition, in Schindelhof directly shingles, fountain basins and wooden water pipes called Deicheln were prepared.

DE: Der Schindelhof befindet sich im St. Alban-Tal in Basel an der Verzweigung der zwei Kanäle. Die Anlage besteht aus mehreren Gebäuden, die um einen Hof gruppiert sind.

Im Mittelalter wer der Schindelhof die Endstation der Holzlieferungen, die über den Kanal in die Stadt geleitet wurden. Das Holz wurde von hier als Bau- und Brennmaterial verkauft. Ausserdem wurden im Schindelhof auch direkt Schindeln, Brunnentröge und Deicheln (hölzerne Wasserleitungen) hergestellt.
