The official description of Abstract vertical sculpture has three areas of negative space at the top and is solid at the bottom. The elongated negative space areas are graduated in height, giving the piece a wing-like appearance. The sculpture is illuminated with four footlights embedded in the concrete. did not help to definitively locate this piece. Discussion with a receptionist at the training organization, who happened to have participated in a survey of outdoor art located on the Texas State campus, provided a map showing the various sculptures. This reference was key as the plaque in the SAI entry was not found during the visit.
