EN: The market hall was built in 1929, the architect was Hans E. Ryhiner. The octagonal dome has a span of 60 meters and was the third largest dome in the world at the time of the opening.
The hall was used as a market until 2004. From 2009 to 2011 it was rebuilt and renovated. It now houses various shops and restaurants. Under the dome sometimes events take place.
DE: Die Markthalle wurde 1929 errichtet, der Architekt war Hans E. Ryhiner. Die achteckige Kuppel hat eine Spannweite von 60 Metern und war zur Zeit der Eröffnung der drittgrösste Kuppelbau der Welt.
Die Halle wurde bis 2004 für den Marktbetrieb genutzt. Von 2009 bis 2011 wurde sie umgebaut und saniert. Sie beherbergt heute verschiedene Geschäfte und Restaurants. Unter der Kuppel finden manchmal Veranstaltungen statt.
