I was told that it is thought that this pile of stones was left by Indians in the area long before the area was flooded to make Lake Lanier. Possibly a sacred site or burial mound, but no one knows.
The pile is usually under the water, but the lake was down about 6 feet today, so the stones are visible above water.
Waypoint coordinates were recorded at location where photograph was taken. Did not go closer or climb on rocks.
Type: Burial Mounds
