I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark from 1954 in good condition. It is monumented on top of a concrete base of a bridge overpass. This station is also listed on a topography map as 'BM 3388'. My posted coordinates will place you very close to this station.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1954 2.3 MI S FROM STEINMAN. 2.3 MILES SOUTH ALONG THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC COMPANY RAILROAD FROM THE WATER TANK AT STEINMAN, 4.9 MILES NORTH OF SISKIYOU, ABOUT 2 1/4 TELEPHONE POLES SOUTHEAST OF MILEPOLE 417, AT STATE HIGHWAY 66 BRIDGE 417.04 OVER THE TRACK, IN THE TOP OF THE NORTHWEST END OF THE FIRST CONCRETE FOUNDATION FOR PIERS NORTHEAST OF THE SOUTHWEST CONCRETE ABUTMENT, 7.9 FEET SOUTHWEST OF THE SOUTHWEST RAIL, AND ABOUT 3 FEET HIGHER THAN THE TRACK.
