The trail head is at the beautiful Cameron Lake in Waterton Lakes National Park N 49.05126 W 113.91597 and rises 2500 vertical feet over the next 5 miles. When the ridge is reached you can view to the SW and see mountain lakes in Montana, USA, or view to the NE and see Carthew Lakes in Alberta, Canada. You can return to the trail head at this point or continue on another 10 miles and a descent of 3400 feet, passing by Carthew Lakes, Alderson Lake and finally reaching the final destination of Cameron Falls. The full hike will take approximately 7 hours and is well worth it.
