The Star, formerly known as Star City Casino, is located in Pyrmont, close to the Sydney CBD.

Originally opened in 1995, the casino was recently renovated and currently includes two gaming floors, bars, restaurants and more than 350 hotel rooms and 130 serviced apartments.

The casino floor includes a range of gambling games - Mini Baccarat, Blackjack, Caribbean Stud, Craps, Pai Gow, Poker, Pontoon, Roulette, Rapid Roulette, Sic Bo, Three card poker, and Four-Card Poker - as well as up to 1500 poker (slot) machines).

The Lyric Theatre hosts a number of concerts and musicals, such as Strictly Ballroom the musical.

It is the only legally licensed casino in the state of New South Wales.
