Jackson County Courthouse might notice a bronze sculpture of a Pony Express rider riding on his horse. This sculpture was created by artist Danny Edwards, who has a personal
website in which I located this particular sculpture and title. This sculpture is one of nine that were produced and Edwards' website contains a picture of this sculpture with painted elements that the sculpture I visited did not contain - it's strictly a bronze sculpture.
Edwards mentions on his website that this sculpture of a Pony Express rider sells for $125,000! Wow. From reading Edwards' bio on his website, he states that he enjoys sculpting themes with historic significance. This Pony Express rider is one of them. I could not find out any information regarding the historical significance behind the title of this piece. Edwards has sculpted a famous stagecoach scene that existed from Winnemucca, NV to Silver City, ID, so I can ascertain that this rider depicts a well-known Pony Express route that once existed somewhere in the West.
From the PonyExpress.org website the Pony Express mail and news delivery service only lasted from 1860 to 1861 and ended when the completion of the telegraph line was accomplished. In its short existence, the Pony Express was instrumental in connecting the East to the West (St. Joseph, MO to Sacramento, CA).
