The Monument features a life-sized Mozart standing atop the three-tiered work. He is depicted as a young man, standing..one hand on a lectern and the other stretched out at his side as if making a point in conversation.

visit link) provides additional excellent photos and informs us that the marble monument was unveiled April 21, 1896. The artist is Viktor Tilgner. It also tells us:
"The inscription on the front panel are the life data of Mozart and resumes with the masks with respect to Mozart's work in the theater and the opera.
Front inscription: Mozart MCCCLVI - MDCCXCI (1756 - 1791)
Inscription Back: The unveiled in 1896 Mozart monument originally stood at the Albertina Platz and was re-erected in the castle species after restoration because of bomb damage in the spring of 1953.
Below the Inschriftentaffel are as Bronzezierrat instruments and a laurel wreath, between stone sheet music with notes from Don Giovanni. The leading edge is formed as a keyboard.
The multi-part base of the monument shows on the front a bas-relief with scenes from Don Giovanni: 'The Invitation' and the 'appearance of the stone guest'.
The entire base is encircled by Putti making music, he is crowned by the statue of the composer who is very elegant with stand and free leg in front of the music stand...
On the back there is the construction and dedication inscription, also shows a high relief the six-year-old Mozart at the piano, his father with the violin and his sister Nannerl singing (after a drawing by Louis de Carrogis Carmontelle)...
Already in 1815 he had proposed the establishment of a Mozart monument. However, you still thought at the time to a common monument with Haydn and Gluck, and later Beethoven. As one site summed up the Karlskirche in the eye. It should become a pantheon of music.
For the construction of the Mozart monument, a memorial committee was formed. The driving force on the committee was the patron of the arts Nikolaus Dumba.
