Here in the East end of Fain Plantion Cemetery is a group of stones that mark the grave sites of former slaves. One of the stones is hand cut (Uncle Jack), the others are common field stones. It appears that family of the deceased have placed modern granite markers with the names on them next to the orginal stones.
Buried here near the Upping Stone are: Uncle Jack, Aunt Beck, Lil, Ben, and Uncle George.
Note*
Because of the semi- or non-permanent nature of these markers, many of these markers erode or corrode away. Waymarking them is a way of recording their existance and sharing these tributes for the future. In no way was this Waymark intended as part of a game, but for historic and genealogical purposes only.
