Carolina Theater Park - Charlotte, NC - Municipal Parks and Plazas on Waymarking.com

This is a new "pocket-park" next to the old Carolina Theater (now defunct) in Charlotte, NC. It is located on the SE corner of 6th and Tryon in Uptown.

There have been many plans for what to do with the site. It was a vacant lot for quite some time. The park was installed as a "temporary" build until final plans are made. (And remember, with government there is nothing quite as permanent as something temporary.)

As far as I can tell, the Carolina Theater Preservation Society owns the actual theater. Their website is here: (visit link) I hope they can preserve this piece of Charlotte history. In the meantime, we can enjoy this little park.
