From the intersection with FR370 near Three Creek Lake, south of Sisters, travel generally S on FR16 for 0.9 mile. Park and hike generally S on the Tam McArthur Rim Trail for 0.6 mile to the corner on the left.
Type of survey mark: 2-1/2" brass cap on a steel pipe in a mound of stones; rising 5"
What indicators are near the mark to help people identify where it is located?: About 100' after the third switchback, leave the trail and go downhill about 740' E to the corner. There is a LAND SURVEY MONUMENT and a NATIONAL FOREST WILDERNESS sign mounted on a U-post, which bears E, 3' distant from the corner. Found two blazed and scribed trees, each with a yellow BEARING TREE tag and a LAND SURVEY MONUMENT on the reverse side.
