These are remnants from Wroclaw fortifications dating from the Late Middle Age.

From the historical marker on the location:
"This is the best preserved relic of Wroclaw fortifications from the Late Middle Ages and Early Modern times. The bastion was erected in 1486 to guard the Olawa River inlet to the city moat and protect the curtain walls of the external fortifications. It was exposed in the years 1967-1971 and partially reconstructed"
There is a modern tall building next to the bastion.
