The chateau in Jicín was built after 1608; 12 years later, it caught fire after an explosion, and was seriously damaged. Under Albrecht of Valdštejn, in 1633, it was newly built in the Baroque style.
It is one of the largest early-Baroque chateaux in our country and a significant dominant element of the urban preserve of Jicín.
