The museum is housed in a large purpose built hangar & is located at H.M.A.S Albatross, the Navy's Fleet Air Arm base on the outskirts of Nowra. The museum has over 30 aircraft & numerous artefacts on display. There are also military aircraft on loan from private companies, including a Polish Mig-15 used as a trainer.
The display is arranged in eras with the first being from 1947 to 1955. There are piston driven aircraft, jets, helicopters & target drones. A Dakota C-47 is suspended from the ceiling. You can view the displays as you walk around & from a gantry above. When the cafe is open there is a viewing platform which overlooks the runways.
